The Hedgepeth-Williams Project

I Am Trenton provided the initial seed funding for this project, a partnership between Passage Theatre and Hedgepeth-Williams Middle School of the Arts. Passage Theatre created and produced a new play -- "Janet Wide Awake" -- about the history of the school’s name, the landmark school desegregation case it references (10 years before Brown v. Board of Education), and its effect on the racial integration of school systems throughout the United States. The play was co-written with the students and premiered in March 2021 in the school's historic performance hall. I Am Trenton proporcionó la financiación semilla inicial para este proyecto.
